This beautiful villa is an ancient monastery equivalent to an enchanting **** star Hotel. The Monastery-Hotel is centrally located, only 500 meters away from the basilica „San Giovanni in Laterano": This Monastery-Villa is unique in the whole world because it gives the impression that one is staying in an ancient roman villa on the "Fori Imperiali". The original monastery was built on the fundament of an ancient Roman amphitheater, whose walls can still be seen today, inside the building as well as in the rooms and the monastery’s garden. In this beautiful garden, which has been arranged following the suggestions of an old painting, the monks grow still today, in the middle of Rome, their medical herbs. Next to the Monastery-Villa the remains of a Roman Circus where the ancient Romans used to watch chariot races, can be seen. These remains can also be admired from the roof terrace, which in addition offers a breathtaking view over Rome. The three story building has an elevator made of glass, which allows to admire the ancient paintings, the treasure of the monastery and the library. It is also possible to visit the monastery’s museum with its rich treasures. It shows richly decorated medieval bibles, precious liturgical objects from the period of the Crusades and wonderful frescoes. The beautiful Refectory is also of interest, especially since it is possible, upon request, to organize Gala-Dinners. There are 60 bedrooms of various sizes with traditional tiled floors and furnishings, bathrooms with shower, air-conditioning, wheelchair access, satellite TV, refrigerator-bar, room safe, telephone & internet. The breakfast room is decorated with wonderful frescoes. A stay in this Monastery-Hotel is really something unique in the world, that no other hotel can offer.
