Villa della Duchessa Anna, surrounded by
exquisitely manicured famous Italian style gardens,
overlooking the city of Florence was built at the end
of the medieval age; traces of its existence go back to
1472. In 1602 the new owner family, enlarged the building:
this transformation is still visible in the present state.
In 1952, Villa della Duchessa was purchased by Duchess Anna
D’Orléans, widow of Amedeo D’Aosta; she improved the
look of the building by adding an Italian and an English
garden. According to the will of the Duchess the property
returned to the religious institution, that now manage this
quiet and peaceful place. The elegant furnished rooms have
all private bathroom and respect the architecture of the
Villa. Specialties of the famous Tuscany gastronomy are
prepared and served with every care inside the Villa
restaurant. The Villa has two elegant and historical congress halls equipped with projector, display, flipchart etc... |
